Feminine Nigerian singer, Simi, has been named the songwriter on the ongoing 14th version of Headies Awards held at La Campagne Tropicana Seashore Resort in Ibeju-Lekki.
This class requires no votes because the judges of the occasion, are required to determine on who’s finest match for the award bearing in mind, the composition, association and rendition.
Simi bypassed her colleagues within the class together with Fireboy, Burna Boy, Omah Lay, Wurld, and her husband, Adekunle Gold to win the class together with her track, Duduke.
Duduke is a track launched in April 2016 by Simi. It’s a mid-tempo pop document mix Afrobeats vibe and tackle RnB. Duduke, in line with Simi means coronary heart or drum, and within the track, she makes use of a beat to explain the heartbeat of her unborn little one whom she refers to as her guardian angel.
The track obtained optimistic evaluations from music critic and listeners. An editor for Naijaloaded gave ‘Duduke’ an 8 out of 10 scores.
