    I have no hand in Mohbad's death – Naira Marley breaks silence

    Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has come forward to deny any involvement in the tragic death of his former signee, “Mohbad.”

    The young artist, Mohbad, passed away on September 12th, 2023, sparking speculations and controversies surrounding the circumstances of his untimely demise.

    Naira Marley, who owns Marlian Music Label, took to his verified Instagram handle @nairamarley to address the allegations against him. In a statement, the singer expressed his shock and grief over Mohbad’s death, whom he considered a brother and a member of their music family. He extended his condolences to Mohbad’s family, praying for the strength to bear their loss.

    The controversial artist firmly stated, “I have no hand in the death of Ilerioluwa, either directly or indirectly.”

    He explained that disagreements between artists were not uncommon in the industry but never escalated to the extent portrayed by some. Naira Marley asserted that legal efforts were underway to resolve their business disputes before Mohbad’s tragic passing.

    Naira Marley, who has been out of the country since August 31st, 2023, is making arrangements to return to Nigeria to cooperate with the ongoing police investigation. He expressed his willingness to clear his name and assist the authorities in uncovering the truth behind Mohbad’s death.

    Addressing rumors of his involvement in criminal activities, Naira Marley firmly denied being a drug lord or belonging to any cult or fraternity. He asserted his dedication to proving his innocence with substantial evidence.

    Regarding the allegations of physical altercations and harassment, Naira Marley stated, “I have never fought or attacked Mohbad, nor have I instructed anyone to harm him.” He urged everyone to focus on supporting the police and providing relevant information to assist in the investigation.

    The Nigerian Police Command exhumed Mohbad’s body on September 21st, 2023, to conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of his death.
