The Nigerian actress of the Nollywood Actress, Tonto Dikeh, praised the efforts of the Finance Government in aligning with the country’s youth by building various platforms for their development.
Dikeh made the remarks while she was addressing a News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) forum, raising awareness among Nigerian youth about the need to stand firm with leaders to build the country rather than destroy its image.
Dikeh, who is also the Director of Socials and Empowerment, Committee of Youth on Mobilisation and Sensitisation (CYMS), has criticized the anonymous media outlets for criticizing the Government’s efforts in youth development activities.
“I think the Government is doing a lot. Before I became a member of CYMS, I did not know that the Government has a lot of platforms given to young people to take them to the next level.
“I did not know that because the worst thing that can happen to us is a disease that affects our society, and that is a lie, false news.
“What we have always had and always received, is the news that the Government is trying to help the youth or the platform where they are encouraging us to be is not available.
“The information is idle, and it doesn’t reach the people who need it.”
However, the Nollywood actress said CYMS, an organization that promotes sensuality and sensitivity, was working to ensure that young people were enlightened by the organization so as not to give up government programs.
According to her, CYMS has many empowerment programs and various youth programs.
While urging the Government to devise ways to engage more youth in governance, Dikeh also used the process to condemn violence against women in society.
“If we do not see the truth and the problems of the youth, we will only see prosperity, and we will only see a world that deserves it.
“I mean, it’s time to include young people in power so that they can change the world,” She said.
However, the actor also assured Nigerian youth that CYMS would not deviate from its efforts to ensure that the organization works in partnership with the Government to develop it.
“We run various training and empowerment programs for the youth, especially women, because we believe that the community makes a lot of fun of women because of their sleeves and over-reach.
“Personally, my foundation empowers more than 50,000 young people, unmarried women each year.
“Prior to COVID-19, we had already planned a skills acquisition program for the youth, especially women, because of the CCID-19 and the limitations at conventions, we were not able to achieve,” she said.
Dikeh said CYMS would continue to implement its youth programs before the COVID-19 pandemic.
